Simthetiq, a leading provider of high-fidelity 3D simulation solutions for defense training, is proud to announce that its 3D Simulation Entity Model Library has been selected by a major aerospace and defense provider for integration into a NATO Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) program.

To enhance AI-based object detection and classification, the customer required large volumes of precise, labeled visual data across multiple sensor types – data often difficult or impossible to capture in the real world due to cost, security, and environmental challenges.

Simthetiq delivered a tailored set of high-fidelity 3D models integrated into a Commercial Off-The-Shelf image generator with a physics-based thermal imagery solution. This enabled the production of synthetic Day, LWIR, and MWIR imagery of military and commercial vessels that accurately replicate real-world targets.

The resulting synthetic data provides a scalable, repeatable, and cost-effective environment for training and validating AI algorithms, ensuring consistent inputs free from real-world variability such as weather, lighting, or accessibility. This consistency is essential for developing and validating robust convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for target recognition and EO/IR sensor classification.

“Simthetiq is proud to support our partners and their government customers in delivering next-generation capabilities for RPAS operations,” said Gareth Jones, Director of Sales. “This collaboration underscores the growing importance of synthetic imagery and environments in advancing both human and machine learning for defense applications.”

This engagement further reinforces Simthetiq’s leadership in providing interoperable, high-fidelity 3D content for mission-critical training, operational readiness, and AI development.
